Web Applications

     The Management Information Office offers the Department of Residence's Life service for web applications and websites.  MIO uses Microsoft Asp.Net written in C# to create web applications for our web sites.

Portal

     The MIO Portal, MyUWO, brings together news and information from around campus. You can get updates from Residence Life, Reeve Union, UW Oshkosh Today, the Advance-Titan, OSA, and much, much more!  Anyone with a UW Oshkosh Webmail account and a student ID can check their TitanCard balance this includes both meals and TitanDollars.  Residents can register devices, check bandwidth statistics, and register for campus housing!  Check it out here.  Here are some of the modules and applications that MIO employees have created for the Portal.

   The information Station serves as an online calendar for students and faculty to use via Portal.  It allows the user to add events, display upcoming events, and look at today's events.  This feature is accessible to everyone in the modules tab in the settings, under Residence Life.

     Games Coming Soon serves as one of the many RSS readers that users have access to.  Other RSS modules include Movies Coming Soon, Digg, CNN, and ESPN.  Each RSS reader automatically updates every 15 minutes to every hour depending on your settings.   If those don't appeal to you,  then create your own with microRSS reader in the General section under the modules tab.

    The TitanCard Balance provides students the ability to view their current balance of meals and Titan Dollars via Portal.  Information is updated hourly.

     The Bandwidth module provides students living in the residence halls access to their bandwidth usage.  The Bandwidth Policy is strictly enforced and can be read here.  Bandwidth is updated every hour to provide students an accurate measure to their bandwidth usage.
