Network infrastructure

Working closely with the campus networking and telecommunications department MIO has its own data center.  The data center has around 25 physical servers, however for the past several years we have been using VMware to virtualize servers.  This helps us save space as well as power in the server room in addition to being more redundant and easier to set up and maintain.

The MIO LAN team is responsible for the server room as well as all of the services running on them such as the Active Directory and web servers.
